I received the following chain-letter email today:
Do you believe in God?
NBC this morning had a poll on this question.
They had the highest
Number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the
Percentage was the same as this:
86% to keep the words, IN God We Trust and God in the Pledge of Allegiance
14% against
That is a pretty ‘commanding’ public response.
I was asked to send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn’t .
Now it is your turn . It is said that 86% of Americans and Canadians believe in God.
Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such
A mess about having “In God We Trust” on our money and having
God in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Why is the world catering to this 14%?
AMEN!
If you agree, pass this on , if not, simply delete
In God We Trust
My response is this:
- The question was asked of Americans.
- It’s American money and the American pledge of allegiance.
So in this case the world wouldn’t be catering to Atheists, America would be.
- “In God we trust” is still on our money and God is still in the pledge of allegiance.
How is this catering to anyone but believers in God?
Why is there such a “mess” about taking the word God out and off of these things? Would it mean you no longer believed in God? Why do Christians feel so strongly about keeping His name there?
This is such a ridiculous debate. Who the hell cares? Leave the word god there or take it out… it doesn’t change anything. Those 86% would still believe in a god and those 14% would still not believe. It doesn’t matter. There are so many more interesting topics to fight about.
I wish these people would pay attention to what they are saying - make a logical argument, perhaps they would actually make their point instead of preaching to the choir.
Although, in the words of songwriter John Mayer, from his song Belief
Is there anyone who
Ever remembers changing their mind from
The paint on a sign?
Is there anyone who really recalls
Ever breaking rank at all
For something someone yelled real loud one time
We all have our beliefs. Nothing anyone says will make us change our minds. If we’re going to change what we think, we will do it because we’re ready to. Because it makes sense to us. There is a time for everything, including epiphanies, whether you’re Christian or not.

Well right on sister. I am with you, God all the way. Separation of church and state was to keep the state out of the church, not to remove the church or the influence of the principles it teaches from anything public. And that is all I have to say about that. I just have one question…
Why would you marry a wild and crazy guy like Seemant?
The statement that “Why is there such a “mess”……. I reflected on this statement and I could not help but think that that words in our minds play such a havoc and we do not even know what are we saying. The conversation in Genesis chapter 3 was resounding all over again..Did God say? or How does it matter if the word God stays there or not? In this age of rationalizing everything seems rational and that is why God was very particular in the history to remind us to keep the symbols so that we do not forget who we are. Joshua was asked to carry the stones out of river Jordan, Lord's supper was reminder of what he did for us, Constitution was a reminder of who we were and what God has done for us and so on. But in this process of reversing the ways that were meant, I pray that Lord would come back other wise what hell we will see without God present in the things left ,only God Knows.
just believe in god and everything will be ok, of course you need to work things for god only guides us all.
If we believe in god then our lives we will live in happiness and prosperity. Especially if we mix it with perseverance and dedication.
